REPORT: Guardiola Is‘Leaving Manchester City’With Serie A Giants Hoping To Be His Next Club

Pep Guardiola will be “leaving Manchester City” at the end of the season – that is the bold claim made by one report in the Italian media.

The newspaper Corriere Della Sera was assessing potential candidates to be the next AC Milan head coach when they suggested the Catalan as a possible option.

They claim that Guardiola could soon be available and his name has been “mentioned” by Milan officials, even though many regard it as a “fantasy” appointment.

It is up for debate whether there is any factual basis behind their comments, or whether they are basing their reporting on hearsay, so fans should take the remarks with a very large pinch of salt.

Guardiola committed his future to City late last year

The 54-year-old put pen to paper on a two-year extension back in November, keeping him at the Etihad until the summer of 2027.

It has certainly not been an easy year for Guardiola, both on and off the pitch, so not many would blame him if he wanted to walk away.

However, there has been no indication he will back out of the commitment he made last year, and the club are already planning some major changes to the playing squad ahead of next season.

The club’s rivals would be glad to see the back of Guardiola

The Cityzens have had an unprecedented period of success under their current manager. Since his appointment in 2016, the Manchester club have won six league titles, the Champions League and 11 other trophies.

They have had to battle the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal for top spot in the Premier League but they have invariably been the victors, while they have left rivals Manchester United trailing in their wake.

For that reason, many outside the club would love to see Guardiola move on to pastures new, but it appears he isn’t quite finished at City yet.
