Chelsea to re-enter the race for Man United star this summer

Chelsea are likely to re-enter the race for Manchester United star this summer. They tried to sign him in January but the deal was unable to reach advanced stage. The player also had interest from Italy but opted to stay at Old Trafford.

The star in question here is Alejandro Garnacho who has came up through United academy. He is 20 years old but has been playing for the first team since the past 3 seasons. So far the Argentine has played 132 games for United and has registered 24 goals along with 17 assists.

Garnacho has been viewed as one of the top talents to have graduated from United academy. He is also loved by fans but the recent conditions have not been good. The 20 year old has failed to stay consistent and has fallen down the pecking order. In addition, the Red Devils are struggling with finances and hence are willing to sell some of their key players.

Chelsea to try again for Garnacho in summer?

According to Peter Hall, United are prepared to sell Garnacho this summer. Chelsea are still interested and are joined by Napoli in the race. The Blues tried to sign him in January window but the deal was unable to move ahead. But, this can surely change in summer window.

Chelsea are willing to sign a player who mainly plays on left wing. In addition, they want him to play on other wing and in middle when required. Lastly, the Blues prefer a player who is young and Garnacho fits perfectly in this criteria.

Chelsea do have other options available in the market. They have Jamie Gittens on their radar who is 20 years old too. Lastly, they have Rafael Leao who is more older but is one of the best wingers in the world. It will depend on which player Enzo Maresca thinks is the best fit for his plans.
