**Arsenal visit Goodison Park for one final time on Saturday afternoon as they take on Everton in the opening fixture of the weekend.**
The Gunners enjoyed a winning return to Premier League action on Tuesday night, [downing Fulham 2-1](https://paininthearsenal.com/arsenal-2-1-fulham-player-ratings-1-4-25), but their triumph came at a cost. Gabriel and Jurrien Timber were both forced off with injuries just a week before their Champions League quarter-final first leg against Real Madrid.
With Liverpool retaining their 12-point advantage at the summit by beating Everton on Wednesday, Mikel Arteta will doubtlessly have one eye cast on Tuesday's bout against the perennial European champions.
The Toffees had their nine-game unbeaten run in the top flight snapped at Anfield, although they certainly made the Reds work hard for all three points. They've been impressive under David Moyes, steering well clear of the drop zone, and harbour hopes of securing a mid-table finish.
The Gunners were held to a goal-less stalemate by a Sean Dyche-led Everton back in December.

### Everton team news
Everton received a couple of notable injury boosts over the break, and the Toffees welcome Iliman Ndiaye back from a six-week absence on Wednesday night. Ndiaye appeared off the bench at Anfield and could be included in the starting XI on Saturday.
Dwight McNeil is also closing in on a full return and could earn minutes against the Gunners, but Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Orel Mangala are still out of action. Beto, who's proven to be a handful under Moyes, will start again up top for the hosts.
Jesper Lindstrom is unlikely to play due to a groin injury which kept him out of the derby.
_**Predicted Everton lineup vs Arsenal**__: Pickford; O'Brien, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Harrison, Gueye, Garner, Ndiaye; Doucoure; Beto._
### Arsenal team news
Saka's back, yay, but Arsenal's one-in, one-out policy meant that [Gabriel succumbed to a hamstring injury on Tuesday night](https://paininthearsenal.com/mikel-arteta-update-concerning-gabriel-injury). The club confirmed on Thursday that he'll miss the rest of the season.
In his place, Jakub Kiwior will likely start alongside William Saliba at Goodison Park.
Ben White missed the midweek fixture due to a knee issue, while Riccardo Calafiori remains sidelined due to the injury he picked up on international duty. On a brighter note, Jurrien Timber is fine. He may have to start at the weekend.
Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, and Takehiro Tomiyasu are on the long-term injury list.
_**Predicted Arsenal lineup vs Everton**_: _Raya; Timber, Saliba, Kiwior, Lewis-Skelly; Jorginho, Rice, Odegaard; Saka, Merino, Trossard._
### Everton vs Arsenal prediction
Arsenal aren't going to give up on the title, but Arteta has to prioritise next week's first leg against Madrid with their deficit to Liverpool still 12 points. Had Everton earned a result at Anfield on Wednesday, the Gunners would've headed into Saturday's Premier League duel with more motivation.
The Toffees have been a tough out under Moyes, and Gabriel's absence will hinder the visitors against the physical and direct hosts, who also defend their box superbly. I just have a feeling that Arsenal will sleep walk through this contest with thoughts of Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe lingering.
Thus, the club's last visit to this historic ground could be a rather forgettable one.
