Liverpool could be just three games away from winning the Premier League title, with Arsenal's remaining hopes of catching the Reds quickly evaporating after Wednesday's Merseyside derby.
Mikel Arteta's side did all they could to keep the pressure up on the leaders, having narrowed the gap to nine points with victory over Fulham on Tuesday. Arne Slot's men made no mistake 24 hours later though, with Diogo Jota's second-half goal enough to secure a 1-0 win over Everton, and restore their 12-point lead.
The win means Liverpool needs a maximum of just 13 points to secure the Premier League crown, with 24 still on offer from the remaining games this season. Few will be expecting a slip-up now from the Reds, who will be aiming to have things wrapped up as quickly as possible.
In fact, if they get the title done and dusted within their next five games, Arsenal will be forced into giving its rival a guard of honor when it visits Anfield next month.

With a maximum of 13 points needed, it is possible that Liverpool could get the title wrapped up before that game against Arsenal next month, which has been given a new date.
That might be a little easier said than done, with trips to Fulham and Chelsea looking tricky. If Arsenal slips up though, the Reds may not even need those 13 points.

Everton showed enough at Anfield on Wednesday to suggest Arsenal will have a tough time at Goodison Park on Saturday. Liverpool certainly wouldn't mind a favor from its city rival now, especially if it means the title can be wrapped up even earlier.
The earliest the Reds could be crowned champions is April 20, although that scenario relies on Arsenal losing against both Everton and Brentford, and Liverpool beating Fulham and West Ham. If both of those things happen, Slot's side would be just one point away from the title, and they could even wrap up it before kick-off against Leicester, with the Gunners playing Ipswich at an earlier time.
Liverpool won't be expecting too many favors though, and will be staying focused on its job in hand. It looks as though it will just be a matter of time before the Reds are confirmed as champions.
