Arsenal have just eight Premier League matches left to play this season to try and beat Liverpool to the title.
The Gunners temporarily reduced the gap at the top of the table to nine points thanks to their win over Fulham on Tuesday night.
Liverpool responded by beating Everton 24 hours later to see the gap between both clubs extend back to 12 points going into this weekend's round of matches.
Mikel Arteta's side will face Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday afternoon. Arsenal will have another opportunity to close the gap on leaders Liverpool, with their title rivals not in action until Sunday, when they will go on the road to Fulham.
With the run-in now well underway, both Arsenal and Liverpool have already played their remaining opponents in the league in the reverse fixture.
After facing Everton, the Gunners also have games against Brentford, Ipswich Town, Bournemouth, Liverpool, Newcastle United, Crystal Palace and Southampton before the end of the campaign.
In those corresponding fixtures earlier in the season, Arsenal achieved a total of 14 points from a possible 24 on offer. That included defeats to Bournemouth and Newcastle, as well as draws with Liverpool and Everton.
By comparison, Liverpool have to play Fulham, West Ham, Leicester, Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea, Arsenal, Brighton and Crystal Palace in their run-in.
Aside from drawing with the Gunners in October, the Reds only dropped points at home to Fulham in those matches, taking 20 points from a possible 24 that was up for grabs.
If the same were to happen in the remaining fixtures, Arsenal would finish with 75 points while Liverpool would have 93 to their name.
The Gunners will hope to have a better record compared to the reverse fixtures and hope that the Merseyside outfit can drop points to maintain their title hopes.
