[FC Barcelona beat Atletico Madrid](https://barcanewsnetwork.com/pedri-9-0-torres-8-0-atletico-madrid-0-1-barcelona-player-ratings/) in the second leg of the semi-finals of the Copa del Rey last night with a 0-1 scoreline, which means the Blaugranes are through to the Copa final after a 5-4 aggregate win over the Colchoneros.
This win keeps the Catalans on track to win the treble this season. Meanwhile, this win also means that the goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny continues to remain unbeaten while wearing the Barcelona jersey.
As [Mundo Deportivo](https://www.mundodeportivo.com/futbol/fc-barcelona/20250403/1002438212/szczesny-aplaude-madurez-equipo.html) has reported, the goalie talked Barca One after the game and gave his unique interpretation of the match as he has played for an attack-minded Arsenal team as well as for defence-oriented teams like Roma and Juventus.
The Pole recognised that his team took a rather conservative approach to end the game on a positive note:
**“We showed maturity in our game, and when you play such demanding matches, that’s very important… We played a slightly more conservative game in the second half because Atlético needed a goal to take the match to extra time.**
**So, they pushed many players forward, and it’s normal to settle a bit, look for counterattack opportunities, and try to keep possession for as long as possible. So yes, we were a bit more conservative, but I think we didn’t allow any clear goal-scoring chances.”**
While admitting his happiness on reaching the final, the Polish veteran clarified that this was not something he should be thinking of at the moment:
**“We dream of achieving something special this season, and we are on the right track. It’s great, but right now, we’re trying not to think about the final. We have important matches ahead, and we must stay focused and professional in both La Liga and the Champions League.**
**It’s a great feeling because we are preparing for an exciting end to the season, where we will keep fighting for every title.”**
Szczesny’s comments make a lot of sense, as Barcelona are competing for all the possible titles and will have to give due importance to every single match coming ahead. Hopefully, the Pole will continue to help his team win with performances like the one he put in last night in the weeks and months to come.
