Everton and Liverpool may be in conversations regarding Ben Doak in the upcoming transfer window after what’s happened.

The Toffees have been linked with the 19-year-old Scotland international, and it will be interesting to see whether the two Merseyside rivals will do business with each other.

David Moyes will lose Jack Harrison at the end of the season once his loan from Leeds United expires.

Doak could possibly move to Bramley-Moore Dock in the upcoming transfer window, as the Blues have been tipped to complete a great signing.

Doak transfer to Everton from Liverpool next summer won’t be surprising

It would be great for Doak to sign for the Toffees in the coming months, Lee Hendrie says.

The former Aston Villa midfielder believes the 19-year-old has shown enough quality in the Championship this season to ply his trade in the Premier League and wouldn’t be surprised to see the young forward play in the English top flight next season.

Hendrie feels the Blues have realised the Scottish national’s potential after his impressive loan spell at Middlesbrough, and a transfer from Liverpool next summer could potentially be on the cards.

Speaking to Football League World (3 April), the ex-midfielder said: “Doak, I’ve seen a lot of him this season on loan at Boro and he has turned a lot of heads.

“The likes of Palace and Everton want him and we do see lots of young players go out to Championship clubs and then go for around £20million to £25m. It’s a step up in class from the Championship to the Premier League, and that’s where teams have a look at potential. Everton and Palace have certainly realised that.

“From what I’ve seen, it wouldn’t surprise me if he ends up playing in the Premier League. He’s got so much potential, and it might be a great move for him, whether that’s Palace or Everton.”

Liverpool to make Doak transfer difficult to realise at Bramley-Moore Dock

Liverpool won the Merseyside derby 1-0 on Wednesday (2 April), ending the Toffees’ eight-game unbeaten run in the Premier League.

Diogo Jota scored the lone goal at Anfield, with controversy surrounding it due to Luis Diaz being offside in the build-up.

The Reds could possibly be in for a revamp next summer, with the futures of several first-team superstars like Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold up in the air.

Everton are in need of their own rebuild, with several players out of contract at the end of the season.

Apart from Harrison, whether Jesper Lindstrom remains at the Blues beyond the current campaign remains to be seen.

Iliman Ndiaye has been a revelation at Goodison Park since his move from Olympique Marseille and has made the left-hand side of his attack his own.

The Toffees haven’t had a consistent winger on the right, and Doak may be the one to make that position his own.

Moyes will have a difficult job convincing Liverpool, though, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Reds not want their youngster to join their Merseyside rivals.

It would also seemingly be possible that the Scottish youngster may not want to move to Bramley-Moore Dock due to his connections at Anfield.

The saga will be one to keep an eye on.
