Eintracht Frankfurt manager Dino Toppmöller has admitted he remains in “sporadic contact” with Omar Marmoush despite him moving to Manchester City in the January transfer window.
[BILD have comments](https://www.bild.de/sport/fussball/eintracht-frankfurt-staunt-nur-marmoush-kann-pep-noch-retten-67ee5198bfbcf72aef01b587) from the Frankfurt boss today as they cover Marmoush and how he is now the only hope left for Manchester City this season.
They’ve just lost Erling Haaland to an injury which is expected to keep him out for at least five weeks but could extend to seven weeks or more.
That means Marmoush will have to fill the gap and quickly prove he was worth the €75m Manchester City paid to sign him from Frankfurt in the January transfer window.
Fortunately, he’s made a flying start to life at the Etihad so far, with six goals and one assist in 12 games in all competitions for Manchester City so far. He added a goal to his tally in the 2-0 win over Leicester on Wednesday, continuing his good form after manager a goal and an assist against Brighton last month.
Its five goals in eight league games for him at Manchester City so far and with Haaland out, he’ll have to fill the void until the end of the season.
Toppmöller believes he’ll be fine, admitting he remains in contact with his former player and would back him to do anything.
“We have sporadic contact,” he said.
“And I’m happy for him. It’s also good for Eintracht Frankfurt. I’ve already said that I trust Omar to do anything.”
