Exclusive: Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge launches on May 13 following delay

The Galaxy S25 Edge, Samsung’s most anticipated smartphone of the new S series, has made headlines almost daily over the last few days. After earlier leaks pointed to a launch on April 15, new information has emerged indicating that the company has postponed its super thin flagship smartphone.

The reasons for the delayed launch of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge are still unknown. Information suggests that it may be due to recent changes in leadership following the death of Samsung DX head Jong-Hee Han, not due to any quality issues with the handset.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge launching in May

Meanwhile, according to our information, Samsung has scheduled a new date for the announcement of the Galaxy S25 Edge. According to our sources, the smartphone will now launch on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. This would mean Samsung has only delayed the device by one month.

Rather than hosting a big Unpacked event like in January with the regular S25 lineup, the South Korean company will launch the S25 Edge in a smaller online-only presentation, though this could vary by country. It's unclear if the phone will also hit retail shelves in the same month.

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is rumored to feature a 6.7-inch display, similar to the Galaxy S25+. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite will power the phone. It will sport 12GB of RAM and either 256 or 512 gigabytes of storage. Recent leaks revealed that the device will come in at least three colors: Titanium Silver, Titanium Jetblack, and Titanium Icyblue.

Though we don’t yet know the availability details, the S25 Edge could cost around 1,249 euros. That's a slight increase over the similarly sized Galaxy S25+, which retails at 1,149 euros. It remains to be seen how good the Galaxy S25 Edge will sell. Samsung is reportedly planning to manufacture up to 3 million units.
