Tennessee Titans: Hosting Sleeper Prospect, Star Pac-12 Receiver

The Tennessee Titans need to address the wide receiver position since they don’t have a reliable complement to Calvin Ridley, and their depth is weak. Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, their second-leading receiver, departed to the Miami Dolphins, while Tyler Boyd, their fourth-leading receiver, remains unsigned. Finally, Treylon Burks has struggled to stay healthy in his first three seasons, and Van Jefferson, their projected number-three receiver, hasn’t had over 500 receiving yards since 2021.

Because of this, the Titans could select a wide receiver on Day 2.

According to Easton Freeze of A to Z Sports, the Titans are hosting former Washington State Cougars wide receiver Kyle Williams for a Top-30 visit next week. Williams is a sleeper prospect because he isn’t considered one of the top receivers, even though he is an excellent route runner, is quick, and has the ability to create separation. Since he played with Cam Ward at Washington State in 2023, he could be the guy in the second or third round, pairing him with his former teammate in Tennessee.

The Titans have a 30 visit scheduled with Washington St. WR Kyle Williams next week, per sources.

After spending the first three years of his collegiate career with the UNLV Rebels, Kyle Williams transferred to the Washington State Cougars for the 2023 season. He had two great years with Washington State, hauling in 131 receptions for 2,041 yards and 20 touchdowns in 25 games.

Williams had a breakout senior year, boasting career highs in receptions, yards, and touchdowns. He hauled in 70 receptions for 1,198 yards and 14 touchdowns in 13 games, averaging 17.1 yards per reception and 92.2 yards per game.

Here’s Lance Zierlein‘s scouting report on Kyle Williams

NFL Scouting Combine, Kyle Williams

“Fifth-year senior with alignment versatility and home run potential. Williams will never be tabbed as “sure-handed” but he can separate deep and create big plays, which could make the catch issues easier to swallow.

“He eliminates pursuit angles as a catch-and-run artist and gets respectful cushions, allowing for easy comeback throws. His lack of route-running fundamentals limit his tree, but that should be correctable with work.

“Williams’ subpar hands lower his floor, but teams looking to add a playmaker could have him queued up as a future WR3.”

Zierlein predicts that Williams will eventually become an average starter.
