Alemany’s Ferran prediction resurfaces after Barca star hits form

Ferran Torres is enjoying a great season with Barcelona and netted his 16th goal of the campaign in Wednesday’s Copa del Rey win over Atletico Madrid.

The Spain star is enjoying his best spell with Barcelona and it certainly hasn’t been plain sailing for Ferran in Catalunya.

He has been regularly linked with an exit but was also tipped to do well at Barca.

Former director of football Mateu Alemany knew a thing or two and a prediction he made about Torres has now resurfaced.

“That kid is very good, he’ll be Spain’s number nine, he has to play as a striker,” he said according to Marca. “Ferran will be Spain’s number nine, trust me.”

Ferran is absolutely thriving as a striker this season and has claimed he can be Barca’s starting center-forward.

With Robert Lewandowski set to turn 37 this year, a new starting striker will be needed by Barca. Could it be Torres after all?
