76ers Make Big Announcement About Tyrese Maxey

This has been a dreadful season for the Philadelphia 76ers, but thankfully, it’s nearly over.

The Sixers have been ravaged by multiple injuries, including some to their biggest stars.

On Thursday morning, Shams Charania reported that Tyrese Maxey is “expected to be ruled out for the rest of the season with a finger tendon injury.”

Maxey hasn’t played since March 3 and has tried to rehab the troubled finger, but he is still feeling “discomfort and needs treatment.”

The 76ers’ chances of postseason success were already gone, but it is still painful to see them lose Maxey.

The 24-year-old guard averaged 26.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 6.1 assists this season, shooting 43.7 percent from the field.

Just a season after winning Most Improved Player, Maxey was thrust into an even more important role on his team this season.

The year started in a rough way with both Joel Embiid and Paul George already experiencing injuries before their first game together.

Things didn’t get any better, and Embiid was hurt nearly all season, while George was continually sidelined too.

Meanwhile, rookie prospect Jared McCain was also ruled out in December after his own injury.

The Sixers had hoped to be one of the best teams in the East this year, and their offseason moves were quite promising.

But they had horrible luck, and the injuries just wouldn’t stop.

Because of that, the team is currently 13th in the East with a 23-53 record and the playoffs are out of reach.

Although this season was a loss, fans are still hoping that things will be much better next year, as long as Embiid, George, McCain, Maxey, and everyone else can stay healthy.
