What can we learn about the LA Rams pre-draft visits prior to the 2025 NFL Draft

Having tracked the Los Angeles Rams'pre-draft visits for many years, two things jump off the page as far as trends. Typically, the Rams are not often in a position to select the rookie prospects that they have me with. Yes, it happens. But it's not a solid indicator of players who will eventually end up on the Rams roster.

But the Rams do a remarkable job of giving a sense of direction as to which positions will be selected in a given NFL Draft based on the frequency and tiers of rookie prospects that the team meets with prior to the draft. And in the topsy turvy world of the NFL Draft, i three-day event with endless surprises that cover both positive and disappointing ends of the emotional spectrum, that is a pretty solid directional compass to have.

We've continued to search and confirmthe Rams' pre-draft visits, currently up to 24 rookie prospects.

Offense (16)

Center - (1)

Offensive Tackle - (1)

Offensive Guard - (1)

Tight End - (5)

Quarterback - (3)

Running Back - (1)

Wide Receiver - (4)

Defense (8)

Defensive lineman - (1)

Inside linebacker - (3)

Cornerback - (2)

Safety - (2)

So which positions are getting the most attention by the Rams so far? If the data is any indication, the Rams priorities in the 2025 NFL Draft are:

Tight end

Wide receiver

Quarterback

Inside linebacker

Cornerback

Safety

All others

This is not the end-all of indicators, and even as the frequency of team pre-draft meetings with specific positions may indicate the level of interest by the team, the right players who fit the Rams scheme and specifics still have to be on the draft board when the team makes a scheduled selection. And the Rams may find that the value of prospects on draft day may require inverting priorities. That is, if the front office likes tight ends in every round, but only likes a cornerback in Round 3, the team will likely opt for the cornerback, confident that a worthwhile tight end will be on the board later in the draft.

We will continue to update theRams pre-draft meeting tracker, so feel free to check it out frequently leading up to the draft. For now, it appears that tight ends, wide receivers, quarterbacks, and inside linebackers are certainly on the Rams radar.

Perhaps more telling is the lack of interest in offensive tackle, running back, and defensive linemen. While not a surefire sign that the Rams will avoid those positions during the three-day draft, it is an indication that the team has few questions to clarify from rookie prospects at those positions.

As always, thanks for reading.
