Real Madrid star could miss 4 weeks through injury, but is ready to play through the pain vs…

An update on the wellbeing of Real Madrid star Andriy Lunin has on Thursday evening come to the fore online.

The name of goalkeeper Lunin has proven a prominent one in the headlines in Spain’s capital across the day to date.

This comes after word was forthcoming that the Ukrainian international had suffered an injury setback.

As much was picked up en route to Real Madrid’s Copa del Rey downing of Real Sociedad on Tuesday, with Lunin having played through the pain barrier to reach the full-time whistle.

And now, as alluded to above, a fresh insight into the wellbeing of the shot-stopper has been provided.

The info comes courtesy of Blancos insider Mario Cortegana, who has confirmed that Lunin has suffered a calf injury which could keep him on the treatment table for as long as four weeks.

Despite as much, with Thibaut Courtois also sidelined at present, Lunin could play his part against Valencia this weekend, making use of pain-killing injections ‘with the risk that playing could worsen the problem’.

⚡️Lunin underwent tests yesterday and has a soleus injury that could keep him out around 4 weeks

He is considering taking injections to face Valencia, with the risk that it could worsen the problem

The idea is to test him in training tomorrow and make a decision @TheAthleticFC
