Newcastle planning pre-season return to Adidas HQ
Last year, Newcastle travelled to Germany to spend a week at Adidas’ state-of-the-art training complex ahead of the season.
The club’s time at the facility was marred with rumours that Eddie Howe was set to leave Newcastle for England following Gareth Southgate’s resignation. Thankfully, Howe stayed at Newcastle and is closing in on a return to the Champions League.

Howe gave Newcastle’s academy players a chance at Adidas HQ during their week in the sun. They could be given another opportunity to impress the Toon boss this summer.
According to inews, Newcastle are looking at a return to the training complex this summer after was credited with building fitness. With Newcastle definitely playing European football next season, Howe will be eager to ensure his squad is as fit as possible heading into it.
The Magpies trained at the complex in Germany after signing a lucrative kit sponsorship with Adidas ahead of the 2024/25 campaign. Newcastle are set to reap the financial benefits of the deal in the coming years.
Newcastle could prepare new signings at Adidas HQ
Newcastle’s sporting director Paul Mitchell took a sensible approach to the January transfer window, opting not to bring any players in while selling the club’s less favoured assets.
Miguel Almiron left alongside defender Lloyd Kelly in January, with the Magpies set to bag around £17m for the latter once his loan to Juventus becomes permanent this summer.
The approach means that Newcastle can sign well this summer, with the hope that Mitchell can bring in players to improve three positions in the starting XI that are in desperate need of improvement.
Almiron’s exit left Jacob Murphy as Newcastle’s only natural right-wing option for the remainder of the season. A problem that has not been to damaging with the 30-year-old performing exceptionally this season.
Should they go through with the plan then Newcastle could very well be including a slew of new signings in their training camp at Adidas HQ.
