Microsoft Rolls Out Redesigned Native Copilot App for Windows 11 and Windows 10

Microsoft has officially released a big redesign of its Copilot app for Windows 11 and Windows 10. This update brings a fully native version of the app, which no longer depends on Microsoft Edge-based components like WebView. Instead, it uses XAML and internal APIs to process AI queries, as reported by Windows Latest.

The updated Copilot app was initially exclusive to Windows 11 but is now available on Windows 10. But, the Windows 10 version doesn't have modern visual effects like Mica, which makes it a bit less visually appealing. Despite this, though, the functionality remains consistent and similar to that of Windows 11's Copilot app.

The new Copilot includes two response modes: Quick and Think Deeper. Quick provides answers in 2-3 seconds, while Think Deeper uses the ChatGPT o3 reasoning model to give more detailed responses, which may take up to 10 seconds.

A history panel has also been added to the app, which, as the name suggests, shows past conversations with the AI on the left side of the interface. It also has a Discover tab that gives access to a news podcast feature.

Copilot has also been updated with a new screenshot tool. This tool lets users capture their screens using a built-in snipping API and send screenshots directly to the AI for analysis or questions about the captured content.

The redesigned Copilot app can be quickly accessed using the Win + C shortcut on Windows 11. With its updated functionality and deeper integration into both operating systems, this update aims to improve productivity and usability for all Windows users.
