The Phoenix Suns will be getting a boost as they look to to secure a spot in the Western Conference play-in tournament. Suns head coach Mike Bodenholzer announced that the Suns expect for star guard Bradley Beal to return for Phoenix's upcoming game on Friday against the Boston Celtics.
"They're both great players, smart," Budenholzer said regarding Beal, who has missed the last eight games with a hamstring injury, and Suns forward Rod O'Neale. "You need to be able to do a lot of different things against a team like Boston. So to have both Brad and Royce available is good timing."
The Suns are desperate to rack up wins. Phoenix is 35-41 this season and is one game back from the Sacramento Kings for the final spot in the play-in.
Bradley Beal has averaged his lowest point scoring total (17.3 points per game) in a decade. However, his return comes at a needed time for the Suns with Kevin Durant out due to an ankle injury.
Beal has played in just 101 games over the past two seasons and simply hasn't done enough to justify his $50.2 million salary. The Suns are hoping that Beal can regain form and put together some strong performances as Phoenix looks to make a push for the play-in.
