Kyrgyzstan strives to export eco products and rare earth metals to European countries - Sadyr Japarov

AKIPRESS.COM - President Sadyr Japarov met with President of the European Council António Costa as part of a working visit to Uzbekistan on April 3, the Presidential Administration reported.

The sides exchanged views on issues of deepening trade, economic and investment cooperation, and discussed prospects for joint implementation of hydropower and transport communications projects.

The head of state noted that Kyrgyzstan's rich natural resources, including minerals and significant renewable energy potential, are an attractive area for European investors.

"Kyrgyzstan's total trade turnover with the European Union increased in 2024. In the future, we strive to further increase the volume of bilateral trade, as well as export environmentally friendly, natural products and rare earth metals to European countries," Sadyr Japarov emphasized and added that one of the most important issues for Kyrgyzstan is the transition to a "green" economy.

In turn, President of the European Council António Costa confirmed the EU's readiness to continue the dialogue and provide support to the Kyrgyz Republic in sustainable development, trade and economic cooperation and adaptation to global challenges.

He also noted that Kyrgyzstan has demonstrated significant success in strengthening regional cooperation in recent years.
