A host of Premier League clubs are looking at Udinese defender Oumar Solet ahead of the summer with the centre-back rated at €30 million.
According to Sport Italia, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City are interested in exploring a move for Oumar Solet ahead of the summer. Udinese are likely to sell if an offer of over €30 million arrives on their doors, which will represent a massive profit for the player who arrived for free in January.
Udinese are bracing for the prospect of making a hefty profit off a player who they managed to sign on a free transfer in January, Defender Oumar Solet was a free agent since last summer when RB Salzburg terminated his contract and he had been unable to join another team until he winter market opened.
Solet had many offers from different teams, although it was Udinese who took their chances on the 25-year-old. In recent days, there have been considerable links to some of the biggest clubs across the continent, with English duo Manchester United and West Ham United showing an interest.
The report focuses on the interest from a few other Premier League sides as Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City are now keen on the defender. Udinese wants over €30 million to sell the centre-back who has made a big impact in a short period in Serie A.
Starting with Chelsea, the Stamford Bridge outfit are eager to recruit a new defender in the close season. They are confident of landing Marc Guehi, although they are keeping a close eye on alternatives such as the €30 million-rated Serie A defender Solet, who incidentally fits into their profile of a player that the club’/s transfer policy dictates they sign.
Will Oumar Solet move to the Premier League?
The report also names Manchester City as a suitor for the defender, although Pep Guardiola did sign new defenders in January with Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis. Manchester City are also linked with Lazio’s Mario Gila, which is an indication the club are prepared to add another centre-back in a specific age group, as Solet does fall into that category.
Finally, Liverpool are looking at the market for more than just one central defender, with links to Dean Huijsen among others. The Merseysiders are facing a tricky summer window with the futures of Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate thrown into doubts, as Arne Slot will want multiple additions to his backline, as Solet might be a player of interest to the Dutchman.
