Arsenal and Liverpool have entered the race for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze, as Manchester United and Tottenham are keen.
According to Caught Offside, Arsenal and Liverpool are in a tussle for Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze ahead of the summer. The 26-year-old is expected to leave the Eagles in the close season, as the club could potentially cash in on the attacking midfielder amid further interest from the likes of Tottenham and Manchester United.
Crystal Palace are gearing up for a pivotal summer window, as the club will be put in a spot of bother with regards to some of their key players. The futures of Eberechi Eze, Adam Wharton, Jean-Philippe Mateta and Marc Guehi have come into question, with at least a few of those expected to depart.
Eze in particular has developed a stellar reputation as a top attacking midfielder in the Premier League and some of the top clubs will be alerted should the 26-year-old become available. Palace are demanding at least £60 million for their star, which the report claimed could be a release clause.
Tottenham are interested in Eze since last summer, with Ange Postecoglou reportedly pushing the club to sign the attacking midfielder. Spurs had big links to the Palace star last time out, but for some reason could not get a deal through the line.
Manchester United are also interested, as Ruben Amorim could see the need to add another attacking midfielder alongside Bruno Fernandes. In any case, any deal for the £60 million-rated Premier League playmaker will come down to the club’s ability to pay what’s necessary, which does give some of the other interested clubs an edge.
Arsenal and Liverpool linked with Eberechi Eze
Arsenal and Liverpool have entered the race for Eze ahead of the summer, as those links do make sense to an extent. Liverpool for instance, does have a wealth of attacking midfield talent in their squad including Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, although Eze is someone who can provide a better output than those two.
As for Arsenal, they too have good enough options in the attacking midfield setup, although they do lack a left-eight in their squad that is capable of putting in the output of Eze. It remains to be seen whether Mikel Arteta prioritises a move for a player in that position, as they do have other needs like a striker, wide forward and central midfielder.
