Chelsea recorded a fourth consecutive win over Tottenham by beating their London rivals at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night.
The Blues, who won the reverse fixture 4-3 in December, took the lead just after half-time when Enzo Fernandez headed home from a Cole Palmer.
Moises Caicedo thought he had doubled Chelsea's advantage with a spectacular volley moments later but it was eventually disallowed for offside following a four-minute VAR review.
Meanwhile, Spurs did not register a shot on goal until the 69th minute when substitute Pape Matar Sarr rifled a long-range goal past Robert Sanchez.
However, that goal was also disallowed following another lengthy VAR check as it was ruled that Sarr had fouled Caicedo in the build-up.
The result saw Chelsea reclaim fourth place with eight rounds of fixtures remaining. Spurs stay 14th.
