Bears sign WR Miles Boykin, CB Shaun Wade ahead of offseason program

The Bears signed free-agent wide receiver Miles Boykin and cornerback Shaun Wade to one-year contracts Thursday. Both will be with the team when it opens its offseason training program Monday.Boykin, 28, is from Tinley Park and played at Providence Catholic before going to Notre Dame. The Ravens drafted him in the third round in 2019, and he spent three seasons with them before they cut him. He was with the Steelers in 2022 and ’23, then spent last season on the Giants’ and Seahawks’ practice squads.Between the Ravens and Steelers, Boykin caught 38 passes for 498 yards and seven touchdowns in 73 games. He also played significantly on special teams.Wade, 26, didn’t play last season, either, and spent much of last season on the Chargers’ practice squad. The Ravens drafted him in the fifth round out of Ohio State in 2021, then traded him to the Patriots before his rookie season. He played 20 games, including six starts, for the Patriots over three seasons.

Williams’ second NFL season will officially begin when the Bears report to Halas Hall on Monday for the start of their offseason program.
