Monchi wants to take disgruntled Real Madrid playmaker to Aston Villa

Aston Villa chief Monchi wants to bring Real Madrid attacking sensation Arda Guler to the Premier League this summer.

According to a report from Fichajes, Aston Villa could push to sign Arda Guler on loan ahead of next season. The Birmingham club’s chief, Monchi, is a huge admirer of the Turkish gem and believes he is an ideal player to bolster Unai Emery’s squad.

Guler was already the talk of the town while he was playing for Fenerbahce’s first team. His performances had put him on the radar of quite a few top clubs, but Real Madrid managed to win the race for his signature in the summer of 2023.

While everyone in Madrid had huge expectations from the Turkish sensation, injuries and lack of game time ruined his debut campaign. He did put in some impressive performances towards the end of the 2023/24 season, but things haven’t been that great for him this season as well.

He has been involved in 32 matches but has racked up just over 1,100 minutes despite contributing towards 10 goals. Carlo Ancelotti hasn’t been able to give him enough game time. As a result, Los Blancos are now considering the option of sending him out on loan.

They want him to gain regular minutes to unlock his full potential. While they see him as a key player for the future, consistent playing time is crucial for his development right now. Aston Villa have emerged as a potential suitor for the 20-year-old.

Villa to push for the signature of Guler

The Premier League could be an appealing destination for the Turkish talent, particularly Villa, if they secure a spot in one of the European competitions. Monchi is the one driving the Birmingham club’s interest in the Fenerbahce graduate.

He feels the 20-year-old could be a great addition to Emery’s team that plays possession-based football. He could feature as number ten as well as on the right flank. Guler could help create as well as score. His abilities on the ball could cause significant problems for opposition defenders.

Villa’s chief has followed the Real Madrid star’s development for some time and is all set to push for his signature in the summer. Meanwhile, the team in white can certainly sanction a temporary departure, as playing under Emery could help him develop and gain the experience he needs to succeed at the Santiago Bernabéu.
