Saquon Barkley Makes Edit Request After Photo With Trump Family Goes Viral

Philadelphia Eagles star Saquon Barkley continues to bask in the glory of his team crushing the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.

Following Barkley's historic first year with the franchise, the Eagles rewarded the running back with a two-year $41 million contract with $36 million guaranteed. During the 2024 regular season, Barkley rushed for 2,005 yards, the eight most in NFL history.

The AP's Offensive Player of the Year, who led all running backs in yards, carries (345) and yards per game (125.3) also earned First-Team All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors.

Amid his success, Barkley spoke on a panel at a J.P. Morgan event alongside Tom Brady. Barkley posted on April 3, "Had an amazing time at the J.P. Morgan tech summit ! Want to give a shoutout to Madhu for having me out.

"Want to also give a shoutout to everyone who made it amazing," he added, before tagging multiple people including, Ivanka Trump, her husband, Jared Kushner, and brother-in-law, Josh Kushner.

The 28-year-old's photo with Ivanka and her son, Joseph, went viral after an NFL aggregator account by the name Dov Kleiman shared the picture with a new caption that read, "Just In: Eagles Star RB Saquon Barkley with President Donald Trump's daughter Ivanka and her son at J.P. Morgan Tech 100 summit.

"Barkley even gave President Trump's grandson a signed football. Saquon has always been a big supporter of the Trumps."

The post immediately turned heads since Barkley did not publicly endorse a candidate in the 2024 election. Barkley, along with Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and team owner Jeff Lurie, went golfing with former President Barack Obama in October. Also, Josh Kushner, included in this photos, is a lifelong Democrat.

Hours later, Kleiman deleted the original post. The account re-posted a nearly identical message except the part about the Barkley having "always been a big supporter of the Trumps" was deleted.

After fan called out the account in the comments, "Did you really re-post this cus you got called out for lying and calling Saquon a 'longtime Trump supporter'?"

Kleiman responded, "I was asked to take it out...He requested that his political beliefs stay private, and I respected that."

The Eagles accepted an invitation to celebrate their Super Bowl win at the White House on April 28, however, it's unclear how many players will be in attendance.

"Our culture is that these are optional things," Lurie told reporters on Tuesday. "If you want to enjoy this, come along and we'll have a great time and if you don't, it is totally an optional thing."
