Giannis Antetokounmpo has sparked speculation about a potential move to the Knicks after expressing his love for playing in New York and Madison Square Garden. SNY sources say the Knicks cannot be counted out as a possible landing spot.
For the first time in his career, Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo is reportedly open to questioning whether Milwaukee is the right long-term fit for him.
This has fueled speculation about his next possible NBA destination. A two-time MVP, Giannis recently shared his admiration for playing at Madison Square Garden.
"I love playing in New York," Giannis said on the Thanalysis Show. "I think it just brings the best out of me. I also love when I play for Greece, and I represent my country."
The New York Knicks can't be ruled out as a potential landing spot.
According to Ian Begley of SNY, while the Knicks may not appear to be a logical trade partner after acquiring Karl-Anthony Towns and Mikal Bridges and re-signing OG Anunoby, league sources suggest it would be a mistake to count them out.
Begley notes that if the 2024–25 season had gone poorly, the Knicks would have had strong interest in pursuing Antetokounmpo.

Elsewhere, NBA insider Brian Windhorst of ESPN has advised fans to "pay attention" to San Antonio and Houston as potential destinations.
All this comes in the wake of another disappointing playoff exit for the Bucks—eliminated in the first round for the third straight season.
