'Trying to get the sack...' - Pundit claims Amorim 'wants out' at Man Utd after what he's heard

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has 'all but resigned' after his recent comments, according to Richard Keys.

The Red Devils are enduring yet another difficult season, but this could be their worst in recent history when it comes to their domestic performances. United have been eliminated from the FA Cup and League Cup, while they sit in 16th place in the Premier League table.

Amorim's side have reached the Europa League final, where they will face Tottenham Hotspur next week, but it won't gloss over what has been a shocking campaign. United's league form is certainly enough to get a manager sacked, but Amorim does have the argument that he joined in the middle of the season.

Amorim Has 'All But Resigned' at Man Utd

Keys says he's been trying to get the sack

Writing in his blog, Keys has suggested that Amorim has 'all but resigned' with his latest comments on United...

"How long have I been saying Ruben Amorim has been trying to get the sack? You all laughed at me. Well now what? Because this weekend he all but resigned."

Keys later adds that if he is right and Amorim wants to leave the club, then how can United commit to him? The Red Devils have plenty of decisions to make in terms of what signings to bring in, and Keys believes they need to be careful...

"If I’m right - and Amorim wants out - either now or a couple of months into next season - how can United commit to him? How can they gamble spending money on players he might want?"

Speaking after their defeat against West Ham United at the weekend, Amorim hinted that if the Red Devils aren't brave in the summer and heading into next season, then INEOS should be considering making changes in terms of personnel...

"We need to be really strong in the summer and to be brave because we will not have a next season like this. If we start like this, if the feeling is still here, we should give the space to different people."

United will certainly have some decisions to make if their poor form continues and they fail to win the Europa League. The Portuguese manager has been under pressure since arriving, and things haven't headed in the right direction yet.
