There will be a particular focus on adding depth and quality to a position that has troubled Madrid all season.
Madrid’s centre-back options have been hit by repeated injury setbacks.
Both Antonio Rudiger and Eder Militao have spent large portions of the campaign on the sidelines.
That lack of depth has frustrated senior figures at the club, and Alonso is intent on fixing the issue as part of his tactical vision.
One target who has been a long-term target for Manchester United, may be on their way to Real Madrid after all.
Xabi Alonso pushing for Dean Huijsen to be his first Real Madrid signing
According to journalist Matteo Moretto on X, Alonso is pushing Real Madrid to sign Dean Huijsen.
The 20-year-old Bournemouth defender has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in recent months.
The Red Devils were previously confident of beating Madrid to his signature – just as they managed in the race for Leny Yoro.
However, Real Madrid are now favourites to land Huijsen.
The Bournemouth star is understood to prioritise a move to Spain and the Bernabeu over Premier League options.
Chelsea, Liverpool, and Arsenal are also tracking the Dutch-born defender.
They are considering the idea of triggering his €58 million release clause.

United are believed to be looking at solid centre-back options, for the long-term future.
Especially considering the expected departures of Jonny Evans with Wrexham interested.
As well as Victor Lindelof, who has recently been linked with a Premier League club.
But with Alonso pushing hard for Huijsen, Real are moving quickly to ensure they don’t miss out on a player who could provide longevity and versatility to a new-look backline.
It’s a blow for United, who identified the 20-year-old as a potential key cog in Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3 system.
However, they may struggle to win the race, if Madrid continue to accelerate in negotiations.
