Ruben Amorim’s tenure at Manchester United has been nothing short of miserable.
Despite guiding the club to a European final, United are languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League table and could finish as low as 17th.
Their worst ever top-flight result.

Amorim is under growing pressure ahead of next week’s Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur.
Speculation is already beginning to swirl about his long-term future at Old Trafford.
A major squad overhaul is expected this summer, with several high-profile departures and new signings expected as United look to rebuild around Amorim’s tactical philosophy.
Now former Manchester United coach Rene Meulensteen has launched a scathing attack on the current campaign.
He claimed not even a Europa League triumph would salvage the situation.

Speaking to Action Network, the 61-year-old Dutchman said:
“The Europa League has kept everybody alive including Ruben Amorim.
“Yes, he came in at the middle of the season which was something he didn’t want to do.
“But he took the step and you have to look at the league as an utter disaster from start to finish.”
Meulensteen, who spent six years working alongside Sir Alex Ferguson, also questioned Amorim’s commitment to the 3-4-3 system, saying:
“He has stuck to his guns… which has obviously worked for him in Europe, which is a bit weird and strange, but it has worked.

“They are in the final so that is the silver lining. Other than that, it has totally been under par.”
Asked whether a win over Spurs in Bilbao would redeem the season, Meulensteen was clear:
“Absolutely not. This is the lowest they have ever finished in the Premier League.
“That’s what I mean when I talk about the standards Man United has had and where they are now.”
Victory in Bilbao would guarantee Champions League qualification and hand Amorim his first trophy.
However it won’t quiet the critics or mask the damage done over a chaotic domestic season.
