As Celtics fans wait with bated breath, Shams Charania took to the air waves with the latest on injured Celtics star Jayson Tatum.
ESPN’s NBA insider reported Tatum underwent an MRI in New York City on Tuesday morning, which Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla said was the plan following Game 4 at Madison Square Garden. Charania also offered [a grim update](https://x.com/ohnohedidnt24/status/1922354290452037658) on the four-time All-NBA selection.
“The Boston Celtics are bracing for the worst around Jayson Tatum and that right foot,” Charania said on ESPN on Tuesday. “He underwent an MRI today (Tuesday) in New York City and the Celtics since last night have been expecting a severe injury for Tatum.”
Tatum suffered the non-contact lower leg injury with three minutes remaining in Boston’s loss to the New York Knicks on Monday night. New York held on for a Game 4 win, and ultimately took a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.
