Commanders to face Dolphins in Madrid as part of NFL’s international slate

The Commanders are heading to Madrid.

Washington’s Nov. 16 game against the Miami Dolphins will take place at the Bernabeu Stadium, home of the Real Madrid soccer team, the NFL confirmed on Tuesday.

The Week 11 game will begin at 9:30 a.m. on NFL Network.

The Madrid matchup will be the final international game on the NFL’s expanded slate for the 2025 season. The schedule also features six other games in Brazil, Ireland, Germany and England as part of the league’s effort to raise international awareness.

“The 2025 International Games schedule showcases an exciting selection of matchups featuring major NFL stars, bringing our game directly to fans around the world,” said NFL Executive Vice President, Club Business, Major Events & International Peter O’Reilly. “[The schedule] underscores our collective commitment to global growth as we continue our journey to becoming a truly global sport.”

The international trip is Washington’s second since the NFL began expanding its overseas initiatives in 2007. The Commanders, then known as the Redskins, earned a tie against the Cincinnati Bengals when the teams met in London in 2016.

The Dolphins were confirmed as the host team for the Madrid game in January. This will be their sixth trip overseas.

The matchup with Miami is the second confirmed game for Washington’s schedule. The league announced that the Commanders would host the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles as part of a Saturday doubleheader on Dec. 20.
