Why Leicester Should Retain Facundo Bounanotte Next Season

Leicester goalscorer vs. Forest, Facundo Bounanotte will return to Brighton after this season. He has been misused heavily under the management of Ruud van Nistelrooy.

His talent has not progressed from the platform he had at Brighton. There has been no real plan. It is truly a disgrace to have such a great player on the fringe.

He came on vs. Forest and showed his flair and skills. He is a wonderful player with a heart for the game as well as being heavily talented. He is a full international player, aged 20, few are. He joined Leicester as a teenager almost a year ago. It is clear that Leicester have wasted his talent, and you can confirm this with obvious facts.

Ruud van Nistelrooy must be criticized for his selections. He has failed to find a suitable role for the little magician. In the FA Cup game vs. QPR we did see how fantastic Bilal El Khannouss and Facundo Bounanotte set each other up. They showed how two players with a special football mind and techinical skills can work together.

Ruud van Nistelrooy never really tested this out in his search for a good and established Leicester team. Instead, he has juggled the jobs in every area. He has just randomly given almost every player a chance to prove themselves.

When you pick an eleven you need to believe in quality and skills first. Then you need to find the positions to play each player in. Would have played Facundo Bounanotte in the role to fill after Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall last season, not using Bouba Soumare. Difficult to leave out such a quality player. I believe Wilfred Ndidi would have been the man alongside the two wizards. However, we saw Facundo slide into the post, saving Leicester from a goal against. He also have the ability to work defensively.

Ruud never figured it out. He has not been able to get the best out of Caleb Okoli and Bobby De Cordova-Reid either. He has also struggled to understand the use of Jordan Ayew. Maybe he have played Jamie Vardy a bit too much, giving little or no game time to Patson Daka.

So would Facundo Bounanotte consider a return to Leicester next season. His market value is €22.00m, so of course a major shame to see him being used the way he has this season. Leicester looks far from having any chance to sign him on a permanent deal. Considering the situation, another season out on loan at Leicester would have been fantastic.

It will be interesting to see how he will progress. Having him around in Championship action would have been an intriguing watch. He is surely one of the most gifted young players in the game today.
