Bruno Fernandes Man United
Bruno Fernandes
Bruno Fernandes has been the backbone for Manchester United in recent seasons but the playmaker could be on his way out at the end of this season.
Saudi club Al Hilal have been strongly linked with the Portuguese midfielder in recent weeks and the Middle Eastern club is offering some eye-popping numbers. As per reports, Al Hilal are ready to offer Bruno Fernandes a three-year deal totalling £195 million plus they are also ready to break the British transfer record.
Up until now, Fernandes has rejected all offers to join the SPL side but now as per the latest updates, the midfielder will consider leaving Manchester United if the club fails to win the Europa League. United are currently just above the relegation zone in the Premier League and the only way they can return to the Champions League is by winning the UEL next week.
Bruno remains committed to the Red Devils but at the same time, he feels the club needs to compete with the biggest and the best European clubs. If United cannot get back into the top tier of Europe, there’s a big chance that Fernandes could ask to leave.
Can Man United afford to lose Bruno Fernandes in the summer?
Without Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United could very well have been fighting a relegation battle this season and there’s simply no way Ruben Amorim can afford to lose the 30-year-old.
The manager wants to rebuild his squad in the summer and Fernandes will be the man around whom Amorim wants to build his new-look starting lineup. The club wants to get rid of Hojlund, Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Joshua Zirkzee and possibly even Garnacho so it’s clear that Bruno is set to be the primary creative spark next season.
Ruben has very publicly said that United do not want to lose such an important player but he will need to back up his words by winning the Europa League. Not only can they end the season with a silverware but at the same time, they will be able to bring in a lot of funds to help their rebuild.
Bruno has scored 19 and assisted 17 goals in 54 appearances this season and a player of his stature deserves to be in the Champions League each and every season. The midfielder is definitely not playing for money at this moment and his loyalty to Manchester United is unmatched. But, if the club fails to get back to the top then he may well head to the Middle East and earn a handsome package.
