First Team All Big East member and future Marquette Golden Eagles legend Kam Jones continues to show why he is among the best point guards in the NBA Draft with his great shooting in the recent NBA combine.

Marquette guard Kam Jones (1) is shown after St. John’s made a basket as time expires during overtime of their game Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. St. John’s beat Marquette 86-84 in overtime.
Jones declared that he will go pro after successful seasons with Marquette. He was one of the 75 original invitees the combine and this is huge for aspirants as this means those invited were already on the radar of NBA scouts and executives.
Jones makes sure he is one of those who will instantly get noticed by showing off his array of moves.

Jones will need both his history with the Golden Eagles and the combine to raise his stock. He had a breakout season in 2024 with the departure of Tyler Kolek who is now in the NBA.

Jones did not play well in their loss to New Mexico Lobos in the NCAA tournament but he did average 30 points in the last three games before that.
Kam Jones remains a 1st round prospect
The former Golden Eagles point guard is already the more hyped player in his batch. However, not many think he will be picked early.

Bleacher Report wrote in March that many are cautious about him and so, he might get picked at 29th.
Scouts still sound extra curious to see how he measures, as there is some hesitation to buy his 6’5″ listing. Still, it shouldn’t matter much for teams that buy the 6.2 assists per game reflecting true playmaking feel.
The same sentiment is flying around after two months.

NBA.com’s Jonathan Wasserman thinks he will be picked 30th by the Los Angeles Clippers.
Concerns about age or upside possibilities should become less alarming late outside the 20s. Teams just looking for another ball-handler or additional firepower should start to consider Jones once the younger, flashier names are off the board.
