Another Liverpool star is not making any progress with contract renewal talks and it has ignited fear among fans after Trent Alexander-Arnold’s free transfer.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Reds find themselves in a similar situation with the contract renewal of French defender Konate.
The 25-year-old’s Liverpool contract is set to expire at the end of next season in June 2026 and the negotiation talks have not progressed.
A key figure in the Merseyside defence after Joel Matip’s departure, Van Dijk’s backline partner has even garnered attention from Real Madrid, who are yet again lurking in the background to swoop in and complete another free transfer.
This information has made the fans palpitate due to the recent Trent situation as they risk losing another star for free.
While many urge to take quick actions to retain the French international, some are even suggesting that Liverpool cash in on him.
Although nothing is said and done for now, Konate has been enjoying plenty of game time and must be tantalised by the prospect of leading the Liverpool defence in a few years time after Van Dijk’s contract expires.
