Two huge Manchester United fanzones to screen Europa League final

Tens of thousands of Reds are expected to gather to watch the crunch match

Tens of thousands of Manchester United fans are expected to pack into two massive screenings of their huge Europa League final clash.

The Reds are hoping to claim the trophy, and a place in next season's Champions League, when they face Premier League rivals Tottenham in Bilbao's San Mamés Stadium next Wednesday (May 21).

A huge fanzone is being held at Manchester's AO Arena where up to 20,000 Reds will be able to gather to watch their team's bid for glory on an enormous 50-metre screen.

The arena hosted thousands of England fans for both the semi-final and final of last summer's Euros.

The organisers of this screening, Red Square, who host regular United events at Victoria Warehouse, are promising 25 different beers and an 'electric atmosphere' at 'the largest indoor fan park extravaganza ever witnessed!' Tickets start at £19.25.

Hundreds more tickets have also been sold for another event at Bowlers in Trafford Park.

4 The Fans, who have been behind numerous other football screenings across the city, say more than 90 percent of the up to 2,000 tickets for the event have already been sold. They cost £19.99.

They are promising a 'a buzzing stadium-like atmosphere' at the event, which will be hosted by an as yet unnamed United legend.

United and Spurs have both been given around 15,000 tickets for the showpiece with thousands more expected to make the trip to northern Spain.

After beating Athletic Bilbao 7-1 on aggregate in the semi-finals, Reds' boss Ruben Amorim said: "“It's the least we can do for these fans, for all the support that they gave us in this tough season.

"But I'm stressed already because of the final, because if you don't win it, in the end, it's nothing. So, we are happy to be there. Let's see.”

He added: "I think it's going to be a really good game. A little bit emotional because both teams are struggling a lot in the Premier League and want to win something.

"Two teams who play in the same league and know each other. It means a lot, not just to us but also for Tottenham. It means a lot, not just for me but also for Ange [Postecoglou], after this season.

"It's a massive game and I know it's going to be tough for the people in Bilbao because they wanted to play in the final at home. For all of our squad, it's really important to give something to our fans this season."
