Newcastle United and Manchester United will not have to wait long to discover Liam Delap’s decision.
The 22-year-old is set to leave Ipswich Town this summer, with Liam Delap available for £30million after his side’s relegation from the Premier League.
Newcastle are interested in Delap, but face major competition from Ruben Amorim’s side.
Geordie Boot Boys have been told that Delap favours a move to Manchester United, with the Red Devils now favourites to secure his signature.
The forward could be the second player that Newcastle miss out on to Man United. Matheus Cunha looks set to join Man United as well, despite interest from Eddie Howe’s side.

Liam Delap transfer expected to be completed very soon
Regarding Delap, it appears that a decision over his future is not too far away.
That is according to Sky Sports, who report that Delap ‘could be swayed’ to sign for Manchester United if they beat Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final.
The winner will qualify for next season’s Champions League, with the two sides meeting at the San Mames Stadium on 21st May.

Sky Sports add that Delap is currently ‘happy’ to move to Manchester United, with his transfer expected to be one of the first to be completed this summer.
Newcastle United’s striker dilemma
Newcastle United want to sign a striker that can compete with Alexander Isak.
The 25-year-old needs additional cover at St James’ Park, especially with European football returning to Tyneside.
While Will Osula has potential, he is not at the level required to be Isak’s main understudy.
As for Callum Wilson, he could leave the club on a free transfer this summer. The 33-year-old’s contract is due to expire, with Howe unsure about Wilson’s long-term future at Newcastle.
That is why the Magpies are in the market for a striker, but signing someone who is good enough to be a deputy to Isak is not easy.
At £30million, Delap represents exceptional value. However, it would appear that he is on track to move elsewhere.
There is no doubt that Newcastle will have alternatives on their radar, as they decipher how to bring in a striker who is at the level required without breaking the bank.
That will be a real challenge, with Newcastle wanting three other signings as well as a forward.
