David Moyes expects Everton to compete in summer transfer window

Abdoulaye Doucoure is begging for a new Everton contract and he is just one of the players on course to leave the club this summer.

A lot of work is going to be needed in the window if Everton are not retaining any of their out-of-contract players.

Speaking on TalkSPORT, Moyes has shared an insight on his conversations with the Everton owners as they plan for their summer spending.

“Yeah, I think we will be [busy], Ally [McCoist]. The new owners have come in and we’re trying to find our way with them they’re in America and trying to catch up with things,” said Moyes.

“We’ve just got a new CEO started, so there’s a lot of things we’re trying to put in place. I’ve got a good idea of what the club needs and what the people want moving to the new stadium.

“So, yeah I expected us to be well supported in the transfer market. I don’t think it will be outrageous, but we will be able to do a bit of business.”

Moyes could reunite with Vladimir Coufal with Everton believed to be showing an interest in some of Moyes’ past signings.

Although the Blues need squad options, there will also be a real desire to improve the quality of the starting XI on Merseyside.

David Moyes will demand new signings at Everton

The January transfer window was a quiet one for Everton as they prepared for the summer due to their PSR fears.

Moyes wants Everton to sign Carlos Alcaraz who has really impressed for the Blues when given the opportunity.

That could well be the first piece of business done by Everton in the window.

After returning to Merseyside, Alan Shearer expected Moyes to demand new signings and that should certainly be the case this summer.

With PSR now not as big of a threat, and new owners at the club, there are not many excuses to be made anymore.
