Nottingham Forest ace eyed for 'cut-price' Manchester United transfer as contract situation…

Manchester United are said to have joined the list of clubs keen on Nottingham Forest ace Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The winger has played a key role in the Reds securing European football this season. He has missed the last two games with a hamstring injury but it is hoped he will return for the final two matches of the campaign.

With a big summer transfer window fast approaching on the horizon, other teams have been showing an interest in Hudson-Odoi. AC Milan, Roma and Napoli have already been linked, and now United are reportedly keen.

According to Sky Sports, the Old Trafford outfit are monitoring the 24-year-old’s situation at Forest. He has just 12 months to run on his current deal at the City Ground, although talks have taken place regarding fresh terms as the club look to get one of their star players tied down.

Nevertheless, Hudson-Odoi's contract situation seems to have put rivals on alert. TEAMtalk report United are "spying a cut-price deal" as the Reds run the risk of losing the wide man for nothing in the summer of 2026, if a new deal is not agreed.

Forest secured the futures of striker Chris Wood and defender Murillo earlier this year as both put pen to paper on new contracts. The club will hope other key members of the squad, including Hudson-Odoi, soon follow suit as they look to keep the core of head coach Nuno Espirito Santo’s group together.

Hudson-Odoi made the switch Trentside from Chelsea two years ago for an initial £3 million. Since then, he has featured 68 times in the Garibaldi and has scored 13 goals.

He was forced off at half-time of the Reds’ 2-0 defeat to Brentford at the start of this month after sustaining a hamstring problem. Although he could not be on the pitch in the following fixture, away to Crystal Palace, he was spotted in the stands as the visitors drew 1-1 at Selhurst Park.

The winger was then also missing for Sunday’s 2-2 stalemate at home to Leicester City. Forest got the point they needed to confirm qualification for Europe but it remains to be seen which UEFA competition they will be in next term.

Making the Champions League is now out of the seventh-placed Reds’ own hands with two games to go. They travel to face West Ham United on Sunday (2.15pm kick-off) before hosting Chelsea on the final day of the season.
