David Ornstein“expects” two Liverpool defenders to leave this summer

David Ornstein has dropped some interesting info on Liverpool and their transfer plans heading into the summer window.

There has been a flurry of reports in the last 24 hours around the Reds’ interest in Jeremie Frimpong.

DAVEOCKOP exclusively revealed that talks had taken place on Monday evening.

The latest developments in this transfer “saga” suggest the club is closing in on a move.

However, the Milos Kerkez story has certainly died down in recent weeks, with the defender valued at around £45 million by Bournemouth.

Bournemouth owner Bill Foley has made it clear that he will not stand in the way of players who wish to leave this summer, provided the club’s valuation is met.

The substantial fee being discussed for Milos Kerkez marks a significant increase compared to Liverpool’s previous investments at left-back, with Andy Robertson having joined for just £8 million and Kostas Tsimikas arriving for £11.75 million.

However, David Ornstein has suggested that should Kerkez make the move to Anfield – there will be some sales.

Speaking on the Sky Sports Back Pages podcast, David Ornstein suggested that Arne Slot’s summer reshuffle could see one of Kostas Tsimikas or Andy Robertson leave as well as expecting Jarell Quansah to be sold:

“It would probably require either Andy Robertson, or maybe more likely [Kostas] Tsimikas to leave. At the top of the list is Milos Kerkez of Bournemouth,” the transfer journalist said.

“They will have other options too. What they do there may affect what type of right-back they bring in if they bring one in, because don’t forget, they’ve got Conor Bradley and Joe Gomez as options. I would expect Jarell Quansah to leave.”

Jarell Quansah has struggled to match the heights of his impressive 2023/24 breakthrough season under Arne Slot.

Limited to just three Premier League starts and often used from the bench, Quansah has faced consistency issues and high-profile mistakes, including an own goal and a penalty conceded against Chelsea.
