Gordon Hill is never short of an opinion when it comes to his former club Manchester United.
The transfer window is almost upon us and Manchester United are being linked with several targets as Ruben Amorim plans to strengthen his squad during the summer.
It has been a terrible season for United, sitting 16th in the Premier League table, but the European campaign has been the silver lining after United reached the Europa League final and will face English opposition in next week’s final.
Amorim knows winning the Europa League would give United more spending power in the transfer window this summer. That would help acquire his primary targets, although it looks like United have set their sights on Premier League duo Liam Delap and Matheus Cunha to bolster the attacking department.
That may raise fears over Rasmus Hojlund’s future but there could be many players set to leave Old Trafford at the end of the season. It’s going to be a busy market for Ineos and Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Gordon Hill fed up with Manchester United transfer speculation
Manchester United legend Gordon Hill will be remembered by most United fans for his incredible wing play, but nowadays, you can get most of his invaluable opinions on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Rarely shying away from an opinion, Hill, who made 126 appearances for United, has opened up on the transfer market. The former United winger has become frustrated with hearing about United getting linked with every player on the market.
Hill took to Twitter to write: “What fascinates me, is that every Tom, Dick and Harry is being watched by United, wow if they sign them all the club will be bankrupt. Come down to earth.”

The 71-year-old makes a valid point because it’s the same old story every year. United get linked to loads of players they don’t have any real interest in signing.
Many agents like to attach their clients’ names to United because it sparks interest elsewhere. It’s sadly known as a negotiation tactic and has seen many players earn bigger contracts down the years.
United have also been linked with moves for Viktor Gyokeres but he has been linked heavily with a summer move to Arsenal.
Manchester United snubbed Gordon Hill’s call
Although Hill didn’t go into any great detail about who he proposed, he suggested the club overlooked his services as a scout in the US.
That admission came in a follow-up tweet and Hill didn’t seem too happy about it.
It would have been an honour, as it would for any former club, to return to United in a working capacity.
United could have leaned on Hill for a lot more than scouting because he knows how to communicate with people in football. That has been missing at United for some time.
