Joe Rogan makes bold prediction about how NBA legend Michael Jordan would’ve done in the UFC

Joe Rogan believes Michael Jordan could’ve been an MMA world champion.

The NBA legend won six championships and established himself as the sport’s greatest legend during his Hall of Fame run in basketball’s premier league.

Standing at 6ft 6in and weighing around 220lbs during his peak years, Michael Jordan is considered one of the greatest athletes of all time.

Joe Rogan recently suggested ‘MJ’ would’ve been the best in whatever sport he chose to pursue.

Joe Rogan backs Michael Jordan to succeed in MMA

Commentator Joe Rogan was replaced at UFC 315 after declaring he’d ’rather go to Russia’ than head to Montreal, Canada, for Belal Muhammad vs Jack Della Maddalena.

MMA was still on his mind when he recently filmed a podcast with fellow comedian, Tom Segura.

The pair considered how elite-level athletes in other sports would do in the UFC.

Rogan insisted someone like Jordan would almost certainly be a champion in MMA.

The only thing that would prevent him from doing so is if he took up the sport too late.

“If MMA existed when Michael Jordan was alive, he’d probably be the light heavyweight champion of the world,” Rogan said. “He’d probably figure out a way to f— everybody else up.

“It’s also his drive and championship mindset. There is just rare humans that choose to focus on football or soccer or basketball or whatever it is. But if they put the same amount of energy at an early enough age [they would succeed.

“There’s certain barriers that cannot be overcome and one of them is physical maturity. If you start boxing at 36 years old, I don’t care. You’re not going to be a world champion, it’s too hard. It’s what you saw with Francis Ngannou when he fought Anthony Joshua.

Will Joe Rogan return at UFC 316?

Rogan is expected to be back on commentary duty for UFC 316.

Merab Dvalishvili and Sean O’Malley will rematch for bantamweight gold in New Jersey on June 7.

For the past few years, Rogan has opted against traveling internationally to work at UFC events.

With UFC 316 taking place at home, he’ll return to the broadcast booth alongside Daniel Cormier and Jon Anik.

It’ll be the same for UFC 317, which will see Ilia Topuria and Charles Oliveira clash for the vacant lightweight title in Las Vegas on June 28.
