Experienced right-back Vladimir Coufal is attracting plenty of interest ahead of the summer transfer window. Leeds United and Everton are among the clubs reportedly tracking Coufal, who is set to leave West Ham United at the end of next month.
National broadcaster talkSPORT say Toffees boss David Moyes is a big admirer of the Coufal, having worked closely with the Czech Republic international at the London club, while the Whites are believed to be keen on adding more Premier League experience to their first team squad. Coufal, widely considered a Hammers legend, has played 177 times for the club since arriving in a £5.4m deal from Slavia Prague in 2020.
The talkSPORT report suggests Fulham could also reignite their interest in the player. The Cottagers reportedly had multiple offers rejected for Coufal on the last day of the winter transfer window.
In an interview with Czech newspaper Mlada fronta Dnes back in March, Couffal said: “I’m torn about all this because West Ham didn’t let me go to Fulham on deadline day. I guess not many people know about this.
“In the dressing room after the match [against Chelsea], I look at my phone and there are four missed calls from my agent. Plus, a message: Call me immediately.”
Coufal is keen to remain in England, with his family settled in London and his son, Niclas, on West Ham's academy books. On the Hammers not sanctioning his move to Fulham, he said: “As for Fulham, I would stay in the Premier League and even in London. We really like it there. My son has started playing in the West Ham academy and is doing better than I expected. My daughter will be going to school next year. How do I explain to them that we are moving to a completely different place?
The 32-year-old refused to ruled out the possibility of a reunion with his old boss Moyes, saying: “When I am free, anything can happen. But my priority is England, the best league in the world. I want to prove to myself week after week that I have what it takes.”
