As Newcastle United get set for a busy summer transfer window, Manchester City are already making moves.
After a challenging season, Pep Guardiola is keen for Manchester City to bounce back in 2025/26.
They already strengthened their squad in January, with Omar Marmoush, Nico Gonzalez, Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis arriving. In fact, Man City beat Newcastle to Khusanov, with the Magpies coming close to landing the centre-back.
But Manchester City are not going to stop there, as they prepare to splash more cash when the summer transfer window opens.

Manchester City plot midfielder signing
According to the Athletic, Manchester City are in contact with AC Milan about signing Tijjani Reijnders.
The report claims that Man City are hopeful about signing the Dutch midfielder, viewing him as a key target.
Reijnders is not the only midfielder that Guardiola is targeting. They are also eager to sign Florian Wirtz or Morgan Gibbs-White, as they prepare for Kevin De Bruyne’s departure.
His contract expires this summer, with pundit Scott Minto suggesting Newcastle could sign De Bruyne. However, that is not going to happen.

Good news for Newcastle United and Bruno Guimaraes
While talk of Manchester City making two more blockbuster signings in midfield will put the rest of the Premier League on notice, it could be good news for Newcastle United.
That is because Manchester City are long-term admirers of Bruno Guimaraes.
They wanted to sign the midfielder last summer, but opted against activating his £100million release clause.
It is well documented that Guardiola is a huge fan of Bruno, while there has been speculation that they could reignite their interest this summer.
It was reported by Brazilian outlet UOL in April that Manchester City want to sign the 27-year-old ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
However, that almost certainly will not happen if Man City strike deals for Reijnders and one of Wirtz or Gibbs-White.
With Gonzalez arriving in January and Rodri nearing a return from injury, Man City will be extremely well stocked in midfield if they bring two more players in.
There would be no room at the Etihad for Bruno Guimaraes, who has once again been a key player at St James’ Park.
The Brazil international has enjoyed a strong first season as captain, with Bruno lifting a trophy and putting the club on the brink of qualifying for the Champions League.
Newcastle have no plans to sell any of their big players, and will certainly be in a strong position to retain Bruno if Man City get this deal for Reijnders over the line.
