When Kyle Walker made the decision to leave Manchester City to join AC Milan in January, he outlined three key objectives: To try something new, to win 100 caps for England (he currently has 95) and to show he can make a difference in Italy by helping AC Milan win trophies.

"I wanted to experience something new, it was the right time and the right club for me," Walker said back in January.

"Ibrahimović has been on the phone a lot, we have great players and directors, I want to show that I can make a difference in Italy as well as in England.

"It wasn't easy speaking to Guardiola, we have a great level of respect for each other. We've won a lot together. Manchester City was my family, I think everyone appreciated me for the way I conducted myself.

"But now, my mind is only on AC Milan, I want to learn Italian and also win abroad."

And tonight, Walker has the chance to deliver on his promise and win a trophy for AC Milan just four months after making the move to Italy.

Milan take on Bologna in the Coppa Italia final and the 34-year-old will hope to be involved as the Rossoneri look to follow up their Supercoppa Italiana triumph in January by picking up more silverware in Rome.

However, after missing three games with an arm injury last month, Walker has found himself behind Spanish youngster Alex Jimenez in the right wing-back pecking order and has had to make do with substitute appearances in Milan's last three matches.

Walker's experience may see him get the nod over the 20-year-old this evening but there are no guarantees he will start.

Milan have the option to make Walker's loan move permanent this summer but it is unclear whether they intend to do that at this stage.

Sergio Conceicao's side will guarantee Europa League football next season with a win at the Stadio Olimpico, which will be a welcome boost given Milan are currently eighth in Serie A and outside of the European places.

With two games to go, Milan are four points adrift of fourth placed Juventus in the race to qualify for the Champions League and three points behind sixth placed Roma in the final European spot.

While they are by no means out of the running in the league, victory in the cup would secure European football and allow them to attack their final two league games with a bit more freedom.
