Manchester City ‘have set’ price for Leeds United over summer move – talks could follow

Leeds United fans have not had a good impression of ‘big clubs’ in the Premier League over the past few seasons. Elland Road has been raided for talent ever since the club was relegated in 2023.

Even before the West Yorkshire side went down, they had lost two of their best players to top clubs. Barcelona signed Raphinha, while Manchester City signed Kalvin Phillips.

After failing to win promotion last summer, the Whites saw an exodus on players. Other top sides also took advantage to grab the best talents they could. Archie Gray, Georginio Rutter and Crysencio Summerville were signed for close to £100million combined.

This summer, Leeds are set to do business with Manchester City again. Rumours around Elland Road claim that the Whites will return for former midfielder Kalvin Phillips. Multiple sources have claimed that the 29-year old will be open to a return to West Yorkshire.

Phillips is not the only City player on the radar. This week, The Mirror reported that McAtee has once again been linked with a move to Elland Road. Leeds tried to sign the youngster last summer, but Pep Guardiola kept the midfielder with the first team.

However, this summer, James McAtee could be on the move. The England U21 star could be available for around £25million.

A whole host of Premier League clubs will be after McAtee this summer, so Leeds will have competition.

McAtee is Premier League quality

Despite his age, James McAtee has a surprising amount of experience at the top level. The 22-year old has seasons in the Premier League and Championship under his belt with Sheffield United.

In two campaigns with the Blades, he managed 14 goals and eight assists. This season, as a rotation player for Manchester City, he has seven goals in all competitions. If Leeds United do manage to sign him, they will be getting a quality option in attacking midfield.
