Newcastle United are closing in on a return to the Champions League.
Having already won the Carabao Cup this season, Newcastle United look set to add to that achievement by reaching the Champions League once again.
Indeed, Newcastle are third in the Premier League and could yet finish second this season. One win from their last two games will all but confirm a place in the top five in the Premier League table, at the very least.
There is every reason to feel confident. Eddie Howe’s side have largely been brilliant and will have a genuine hope of beating Arsenal on Sunday, which would see them overtake the Gunners in the standings with just one game left.
While it’s not yet confirmed, it looks increasingly like Newcastle will be bringing big European nights back to St James’ Park next season. In fact, pundit Michael Dawson thinks it’s now a guarantee.

Newcastle United declared a Champions League club again
Speaking on Sky Sports, Dawson said it was “job done” in terms of Newcastle getting into the Champions League.
The former England defender believes it’s already a done deal, even despite the fact there are still two games left and the race is as tight as ever.

“What Newcastle have done, is when they’ve had disappointments, they’ve always come back,” he said.
“The job Eddie Howe has done is incredible. Four points ahead of Nottingham Forest who can only get six more, so one more win will ultimately be enough for them because of the goal difference of Aston Villa.
“So, job done for Newcastle in my opinion.”
Newcastle are three points clear of sixth-placed Aston Villa but boast a much better goal difference.

How much money will Newcastle make by qualifying for the Champions League?
Being able to offer such a stage to both their existing players and potential transfer targets would be a huge boost for the club.
The format has changed since Newcastle were last in the competition too. Now, they will be guaranteed at least eight games as part of the new-look League phase.
Clearly, qualifying for the most prestigious tournament in the club game brings financial benefits, too.
Newcastle could make at least £17million by qualifying for the Champions League, which would no doubt help boost Howe’s summer budget.
The job isn’t done yet, but it all feels very positive right now.
