Predicted Manchester United Lineup vs West Ham

Seeking to return back to winning ways in the Premier League, Manchester United host West Ham United at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The Red Devils booked their spot in the Europa League final on Thursday night. Three goals ahead from the first leg at San Mames, they had one foot in the final already. Ruben Amorim’s side got the job done in an emphatic manner against Athletic Bilbao, scoring four goals at home in midweek and winning 7-1 on aggregate in the semis.

Collecting just two points across their last six Premier League fixtures, Amorim would want to end the league campaign on a high note. A win over West Ham would see Man United breach the 40-point mark, although their chances of finishing in the top 10 have long gone.

Manchester United Team News

Ruben Amorim hinted in his press conference that Harry Maguire is a doubt for the game against West Ham. Noussair Mazraoui and Alejandro Garnacho were withdrawn in the second half against Athletic Bilbao owing to fatigue.

Meanwhile, Ayden Heaven, Lisandro Martinez, Toby Collyer, Diogo Dalot, Matthijs de Ligt and Joshua Zirkzee all remain sidelined.

Predicted Manchester United lineup vs West Ham (3-4-2-1)

Goalkeeper

Andre Onana is expected to continue in goal, after being rested in the last Premier League fixture at Brentford. The Man United No.1 will be desperate to keep a clean sheet and boost his team’s chances of winning this game.

Defence

Changes are expected to take place in defence, with Maguire unlikely to be risked. Luke Shaw could replace his fellow England international at the back. Tyler Fredricson and Victor Lindelof are expected to join Shaw in keeping the West Ham attackers at bay.

Midfield

Harry Amass gained more valuable minutes in midweek and is an option to start at left wing-back. Should that happen, Patrick Dorgu will operate from the right wing-back position, with Mazraoui expected to be rested.

Christian Eriksen was an unused substitute against Bilbao on Thursday, so the Dane will be fresh to start here. He could partner Manuel Ugarte, who was replaced in the second half of the 4-1 win over Bilbao. The duo will be tasked with recycling possession and creating a base for the attackers to thrive in the final third.

Attack

Fresh from scoring two great goals in the 4-1 thrashing of Bilbao, Mason Mount could be rewarded with a start. Kobbie Mainoo should be an option to operate alongside Mount as two No.10s, with Chido Martin, who was ineligible in the last Europa League fixture, leading the Man United attack at the expense of Rasmus Hojlund.

Hojlund, Alejandro Garnacho, Bruno Fernandes and Amad Diallo could be brought on from the bench if required.
