Mia is an actress and performer who trained at Liverpool-based performing arts school Rare Studio, which is located in Wood Street in the city centre.
She then graduated from Tring Park School for the Performing Arts, located in the Hertfordshire market town, in 2022. Mia went on to study Acting at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York.
Last year, she featured in Channel 4drama The Gathering, which was filmed across Merseyside, in two episodes as Tash. She also plays the lead character of Liv in short film The Watering Hole, which has been selected for the BIFA qualifying North East International Film Festival in November 2024.
She is also due to star in indie film Milestone and Wine. Directed by Jamie Adams, filming is underway in Cornwall. Mia got to where she is now through several smaller roles.
As an 11-year-old in 2015, she appeared in the music videofor Scouting for Girls single Life’s Too Short, a singalong love song. She had already been in another video, for Amsterdam-based artist Jyra’s dance track Feelin’ Good.
Mia also featured in One Night In Istanbul in 2015, a comedy based on real-life exploits of Liverpool fans around the famous 2005 Champions League Final, which Carragher played in.
Mia also auditioned to be chosen to join Justin Bieber on stage during his Purpose tour in Manchester in October 2016. To be considered, contestants like Mia had to learn the steps to the routine, download the song and film themselves performing it.
In 2017, Mia landed a starring role in a video advert designed to get people on Merseyside to think again about using the bus. Producers chose 24 youngsters for the 90-second Bugsy Malone-style video during auditions.
She plays a frustrated businesswoman driving to work who abandons her car getting stuck in traffic and running out of fuel - and catches the bus instead.
In the same year, Mia was signed to an LA agency after impressing scouts with her dance moves. She was chosen to perform a solo at the Broadway Dance Centre and a video of her performance quickly went viral, racking up almost 80,000 views, which led to her being discovered by Two Management.
Luc Brinker, president of Two Management and friend to models Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner, spotted the video on Instagram and immediately wanted to sign Mia to his agency.
Lindsay Inglesby, director of Rare Studio, said at the time: “We couldn’t be happier to see Mia signed to Two Management. It’s a huge deal to achieve this at 13 and not only demonstrates her immense talent, but also the power of social media.
“I witnessed her perform that solo, and it was nothing short of unbelievable. At the time, Mia was only 12 and to watch her dance with a world-renowned choreographer in front of a packed room was truly a pivotal moment in her career.
“Mia came to Rare Studio as 10-year-old and we knew instantly she had something special about her. She’s in classes up to six or seven nights a week and consistently strives for excellence. We’re so excited to watch her career unfold.”
