A look back at some of Laia Aleixandri’s best moments at City.
The defender will leave the Club on the expiry of her contract this summer, bringing an end to three years at the Joie Stadium.
Aleixandri was one of City’s most consistent performers across that time, and a key cog in our solid defensive unit.
The Blues boasted the best defensive record in the Barclays Women’s Super League across 2023/24, and the Spain international was essential to that success.
And although 2024/25 was a difficult campaign for the Club, Aleixandri stepped in to lead the team in Alex Greenwood’s injury absence.

Deployed predominantly as a centre-half, the 23-year-old also featured at both left and right-back when called upon, and as a defensive midfielder.
In total, she made 88 appearances and also chipped in with three goals, including one at Old Trafford and one away to Arsenal in a memorable FA Cup quarter-final win.
But after three years in Manchester, Aleixandri will now call time on her City career.
