Leeds are in the market for a new left-back in the summer transfer window and Liverpool star Kostas Tsimikas could fit the bill.

Daniel Farke‘s side will face a tough task trying to survive in the Premier League after winning the Championship title.

The German is looking to players who have top-flight experience to help the Elland Road outfit avoid the same path as the likes of Leicester, Southampton and Ipswich Town, who went straight back down to the second tier.

Leeds considering Tsimikas swoop

The Whites are expected to need a new starter in the position as Junior Firpo looks set to leave Yorkshire on a free transfer.

A report from Daily Mail (14 May) claims that the Whites are considering a move for Tsimikas to strengthen their squad.

Tsimikas would be a great signing for Leeds

The Greek international has plenty of experience at the elite level, having featured 114 for the Reds across all competitions.

Since his 2020 move, the former Olympiakos man has helped the Merseysiders to the FA Cup, Carabao Cup, and a Premier League title.

Tsimikas’ stats this season.

He has failed to usurp Andy Robertson as the starter for the majority of his time at Anfield but has shown glimpses of his attacking talent, notching 18 assists in his time in England.

He is also solid defensively and would be a great addition if the Peacocks lose Firpo, which seems like a foregone conclusion at this point.

Tsimikas deserves the chance to start on a weekly basis, he has the quality, he just has not been able to show it yet.

Farke’s side could also benefit from the wealth of experience that he has, having won several trophies with the Reds and having 40 caps for the Greek national team.

It would be a major show of ambition if the 49ers backed Farke to sign a player from the reigning champions, and it would be a great start to their business as they look to survive then thrive at the top level.
